Benefits
Feel-Good Hormones
Spending time in a sauna can have an impact on hormones, helping to induce the release of dopamine, endorphins, and serotonin. This can help improve mood and increase relaxation.
Decreased Stress
Studies suggest that saunas may lower cortisol (also known as “the stress hormone”), which can help people feel more relaxed and less stressed.
Improved Immune Function
Sauna blankets boost immune function by raising core temperature and the following cool-down period stimulates the immune system and boosts white blood cell counts.
Improved Cardiovascular Health
By increasing circulation and reducing inflammation, infrared light penetrates deep into the body's tissues and muscles, helping to reduce stress on the heart.
Detoxification
Sauna blankets make you sweat, and that sweating can remove toxins from the body acting as a detoxifying process for the body.
What colour LED do I need?
RED Light Therapy: For calming and plumping
(Wavelength between 620nm to 750nm)
Used for its anti-aging benefits because of its ability to stimulate collagen and elastin production. Also believed to reduce cytokines, which cause inflammation.
At the lighter end of the spectrum, red light works to soothe inflammation and redness, while deeper shades penetrate the skin further to prompt cellular repair and circulation, resulting in a plumper, more vibrant complexion.
BLUE Light Therapy: For acne and breakouts
(Wavelength between 405nm to 420nm)
Used for its antibacterial benefits and therefore used in acne treatment. This specific wavelength stimulates the production of oxygen radicals that kill P. Acnes bacteria (the acne-causing bacteria), without damaging the skin.
Blue light is used to kill the bacteria that leads to breakouts, making it ideal for treating acne-prone skin. Blue light also helps purify the pores and regulate oil glands. Commonly combined with red light.
AMBER Light Therapy: For cell generation & skin irritation
(Wavelength of between 590nm to 620nm)
Used to flush waste from the skin, boost lymphatic flow and increase cellular growth, aiding in cell-turnover, or production of new skin cells.
Amber/Yellow light is known to have a shallow penetration level, making it perfect for several skin issues. With the stimulation of red blood cell creation, these red blood cells eventually help to improve the rejuvenation of skin cells and speed up healing for wounds and other scars, reducing any swelling and increasing radiance.
Infrared Light Therapy: For a collagen and elastin boost
Invisible to the naked eye, this light penetrates deeper than any other colour in the spectrum. It combats the signs of ageing by replenishing dermal and epidermal cells, stimulates the natural production of collagen and elastin, and speeds up the recovery process.
